£1,000 pound fine for not updating ID card information?

Home Office decides on fines even before the ‘Voluntary’ ID card system has even been introduced.
If you fail to ‘voluntarily’ update your information within three months of change you will be fined a voluntary £125 pound.
If you are a repeated offender of not ‘voluntarily’ updating your information, the fine goes up to a 'voluntary' £1,000 pound.
This, as Jaqui Smith puts it is to ‘Stop anyone 'volunteering' themselves as an ID Card Martyr’?? And if that doesn’t deter people from conforming, they are going to send the bailiff’s round to ‘voluntarily’ seize our property!
We should think ourselves lucky that Smith’s ID Card system is only voluntary?
If it were compulsory, the rules would change. Any non conformity would lead to extraordinary rendition, lethal injection or hung by the neck until dead!

But fair is fair? The Home Office assures us that our information is safe?
There will be no information found stuffed down the seat of a train. Personal files auctioned on e-bay or lost on CD disks or memory sticks?
And to make us sleep in our beds more safe and secure. Gordon Brown himself has categorically stated that “the Government ‘cannot’ guarantee the safety of data”???
Of course, if there are any more doubting Thomas’s left, the Home Office are going to outsource our personal information to the private sector just to make sure it has every chance of being found lying around on the street with a big flashing neon arrow pointing to it!

So what Smith is saying is that the ID system is completely voluntary! But if we don’t voluntarily subscribe we will be forced to stay on this island prison? No more holidays abroad??
However, If we do subscribe, we are going to get the shit fined out of us when we fail to update where we live, where we have moved to or whom we are living with?
It is a natural assumption that the terrorists will be fined under the same guidelines for not updating their own information??

The most outrageous and laughable part of Smith’s folly is the registration of tramps, vagrants and homeless to the nearest railway arch or skip or shop doorway? It really stretches the imagination to know exactly what the government are going to repossess from the homeless if they fail to update their own records??

It has to be said that Smith’s voluntary ID card system is turning into a zero tolerance privilege that is going to cost us both in monetary terms and the political rape of our basic freedoms?
